2011 Discovery 42C - Last week my yellow check engine light came on. Pulled in for fueling and upon starting back up light remained off for about 20 minutes before reappearing again. Within about 10 minutes it changed to a red warning symbol and digitally said shut engine off immediately (I think) May have just said shut down engine. Either way I pulled off on the shoulder and shut it off. Check thru all my dash system lights and gauges, everything appeared normal.. Went to back to check fluids, levels were all good and didn't notice any leaking or anything unusual. Got back in, started back up and all caution symbols were off so I jumped back on the highway and drove another 25 minutes with no issues.
Two days later after driving only about 5 minutes the check engine light appeared again and within about 3 minutes, the red warning caution illuminated with the verbiage "Shut Down Engine" so a I returned home and parked it in my shop. When then the red light came on it appeared to go into limp mode, not positive but it didn't seem to have as much power as before. Upon returning home I shut it down and immediately restarted it and both lights are now off.
#1 Has anyone ever experienced this?
#2 Where do I need to look for my OBDII Port
# Will a standard code reader work? Or is a special program or different code reader needed?
Thanks for any help you might be able to provide.
