We have a 2008 Bounder. In 2015 our steps quit going out, they were locked in the closed position. After crawling under and around the steps, I was finally able to remove the step motor, not an easy job with the steps closed. The grease in the motor was hardened into a solid mass. I found a replacement motor on the internet for less than $70, but do not remember now where it was from. No more problems since then with the steps. I did take the old motor apart and clean it and it now works real good, so it is in the garage as a spare replacement should I ever need one again.
If you can manage to remove your step motor, maybe a good cleaning and re-greasing is all it needs.
