Hi all, we just purchase a new to is 2010 Discovery 40K and when I extend the passenger side front slide the water pump fuse will blow.  This happens when the slide is almost out (only about 3 inches to go to fully extended).  I’m guessing a short but any ideas on how to track this down?  I have 5 water pump switches in the coach but I’m guessing it is the one that is located in the kitchen slide.  Any ideas much appreciated.

While I don't have your model, there is generally a wiring harness that travels with one of the slide support arms. I would try looking for that and see if you notice any chaffing on the wires. The simple way to trace is by using a toner device that puts tone on the wire and the tracer portion follows along and when you lose the signal you've located the problem. The one I use is:

Tempo Communications 701K-G/6A Tone and Probe Kit With ABN Test Clips - Professional Tone Tracing Kit - Includes Tone Probe, Tone Generator and ABN Test Clips (Formerly Greenlee Communications)

While this is a professional version, there are a number of relatively inexpensive versions on Amazon. I believe this is a very handy tool for  anyone that plans on doing some of their own work on their RV.

    Best of luck!

Thanks bill for the info, I did buy one of these and have had no luck so far.  Where I can reach, seems the  signal is dead already.  I can see the wiring harness running alongside the frame but in places that I can’t get to without removing the water tanks and quite a few other things.  I’m tempted to cut the Hotwire coming from that particular fuse and running a new wire from that fuse (so it would still be protected) to the half bath that is close to the middle of the coach and only having one on and off switch.  Would be a simple fix although not factory with having five on/off switches.  It is a 10 year old motorhome so I expect there will be things wrong with it but wish camping world would have fixed before selling it to me.  Thanks again

I think that the shirt is back here, any ideas other than what I had above? I have checked the wires everywhere that I could get to!
