Generator Issue

We own a 2007 Providence, generator was running fine until our last leg between Green River to Salt Lake City.  Generator ran fine but quit putting out amps the last hour or so, the EMS panel went dark.  Once we got to the campground and hooked up to shore power we were fine. When

I added coolant to the engine, I noticed the generator level was at the ‘Minimum when Cold’ level so I added enough to bring it to just below the ‘Maximum when Hot’ level (Generator was cold at the time). I shut down generator and when got to the campground, I turned off the ‘house’ batteries and then back on as well the generator, the EMS Panel briefly lit up than went off again, the panel did illuminate GEN but then went off while the generator still ran.   I haven’t tried the generator since we’ve been in the campground.  Is it possible I put too much coolant?

    Any help is appreciated!

While anything is possible, it is doubtful that too much coolant is your issue. Oil level detection is often an issue, too low on oil will shut the generator down so it won't hurt itself. Another issue is the breaker on the generator being tripped. You might want to trip it off and on and see it that helps. If you contact cummings they and walk you through pulling codes off the generator to see if the internal diagnostics will direct you to the problem.
