water pump runs continually

Fairly new users of our 2017 Bounder. It  has been sitting idle for 6 weeks. Getting ready for trip today and filled fresh water tank. I am not hooked up to city water. I switched the control knob on the water control panel to "tank" from the "off" position. No water at faucet. Remembered then to turn on water pump. Did so, but pump just runs loudly and continuously, and still no water at faucet. Do I have to prime it or something? Or am I missing a step somewhere?

Is the fill valve in the fill position? That would allow the water to pump from the tank right back into the tank.

If you hook water up does it run from the faucets?

Is there enough water in the tank for the pump to be able to pump?

Thanks for the response. Got it solved. I had the water control switch on “tank” , thinking that was logical, but needed to be in “ normal” position.
