Mel, we feel your pain as the same thing happened to us. Something in your nearby neighborhood changed to chase the critters to your yard, at least that was our experience. Our MH was also parked forever in the same spot in our back yard with no problems. Then we got a neighbor who 'cleaned up' his yard, disturbing the happy balance of critters who apparently occupied his space and they had to go looking for another spot. Under or through the fence they came to our yard. Our repair job was 'only' $750 but we did not want to have to experience that again.
We have traps set in various areas in the vicinity of our MH that we check every morning. (We have a dab of peanut butter on them; buy the cheapest we can find.) Most days the traps are empty, but some days they have been tripped with a rodent caught in them.
We think the main thing that works for us is we also have white rope lights entirely surrounding the MH, The MH is 38ft so three light strands overlapped/back to back was what we needed. They are electric, not solar, and we have them on a dusk to dawn timer. Bought them at Big Lots for $10-12, but they are available in quite a few other places too.
Knock on wood, we never have had a second problem. Neighbors haven't complained about the lights being on all night, but even if they did, they don't pay our repair bills ... the more costly fix is building an RV garage, but replacing the rope lights as necessary is a much cheaper option!
Good luck with finding a solution that works for you.
