Auto Levelers Not Engaging

I have a 2015 Fleetwood Bounder. When parked with both the engine and generator running and parking brake engaged, I tried to engage the auto leveling system; nothing happened. I engaged the manual leveling system and it worked properly. I tried the auto leveling with just engine running and then just the generator. Still the auto leveling did not engage. While staying at a campground and connected to a 50 amp electrical box, the auto leveling system engaged and worked properly. I contacted the Good Sam Technical Assistant and discussed what occured. Their reply was a faulty leveler System Board. However, when I connected to my house's dedicated 110 / 20 amp line, the Auto Leveling System engaged properly. It seems to be more of a power issue then a faulty board issue.

Jim, I agree it sounds like a voltage/current issue. Many of the new systems are extremely voltage sensitive.Since you mention you've recently replaced batteries I would look at all the connections to ensure everything is good. A loose battery connector can cause all kinds of issues.

THank you for your reply. Since I have a warranty package, I am going to let the experts diagnose the  issue. I'll update you after service. Jim

Level Auto System resolved; operator error. It seems the degree of slant in my driveway causes the Auto Leveling System not to engage. This non-action function is caused by sensors protecting  the level system from being damaged. This is a great system protecting the coach from new owners!

I was not aware of this "safety" feature. Thanks for the update.

As an FYI, we have a 2014 Southwind and I have stopped using the "auto" feature on the Power Gear system, and now only use the "manual" whenever possible.

I was finding the auto system was lifting the entire RV rather high, and the front wheels off the ground too often.

After speaking with a long time RV'er at the Tampa RV Show last January, I started using the manual system, and while it takes a bit more adjustment, the end result is proving to work better for us.

I assume we are talking about the Power Gear leveling system, which is what is on our new Bounder. We also had it on our previous SOB coach.

On the Bounder when it is level according to Power Gear it is always nose low, you can see it and measure it.  I have downloaded the manual from LCI and it does not talk about calibrating the system. Is anybody aware of calibrating procedures.  I will eventually call Power Gear if I need to, just been busy with other things for now.

    Appreciate any feedback.
