Just wanted to inform others. My maiden trip to Florida my Satelite dish flew off the roof. It was hnging by the wires for quite some time gouging and damaging the roof before it flew off at 75 MPH. There is a recall for the brackets on the satelite dish that I had completed by General RV before leaving. Dropped off coach to General on Friday, should know what they are going to do about my roof on Monday. The roof needs to be replaced to fix the damage on a new coach. I have had a bunch of other issues as well. Some have been fixed by General, some need to be fixed still and some I fixed myself. I will post what the outcome of the damaged roof is.

    Items I fixed:

    1. Screen Door hanging up. Adjusted door latch
    2. Fixed Molding on Couch slide was loose. Put another screw in from behind
    3. Faucet sprayer was stuck removed panels under sink and freed up hose
    4. Bathroom door fell off on way home from dealer. Fixed and adjusted
    5. Front Mud Flaps Loose. Added more screws
    6. Power Seat on Drivers side stopped working first time I spun the chair. Was zip tied too tight and pulled bullet connectors apart. Repaired and reset breaker.
    7. Fixed Multiple body panel screws that had heads sheared off or were missing. Drilled out old screws and replaced.
    8. Over Bunk track screw fell out. Was in a stripped out hole. Re-drilled another hole and added new screw
    9. Banging sound under passenger seat when we hit big bumps. I had this fixed at a local place. The bracket that holds the frame to the body weld broke. It is just in front of passenger front tire.

Items Dealer fixed or hopefully will fix:
    1. Bathroom Wall Bulging out
    2. Light switches stopped working. Something went wrong with Illumna plex Panel
    3. Error 3 and 36 on generator multiple times. When in Auto mode would attempt to start once and then gave code
    4. Freezer door does not have a latch. Keeps opening while driving.
    5. Drivers Window screen warped wont stay closed while driving. Need new screen
    6. Grey tank level reads Full after one shower
    7. Window trim loose on kitchen dinette. Screw fell out
    8. Satellite Dish Fell off the roof
    9. Vent cover Broken on Roof from Satellite Dish hitting it as it flew off the roof
    10. Roof Damaged from Satellite Dish dangling from wires while we drove
    11. Basement Compartment door latch broke and was stuck closed
    12. Front Engine compartment door needed adjustment. Was not fitting tightly.

I too have a 2018 36P that we bought in January from General. They let us drive it for two weeks

and brought it back for any needed repairs. We had one fender screw  broken, the dryer was not plugged in, and the credenza table was mounted an inch too low and was not pulling out.

They fixed everything. Will do an under frame inspection tomorrow. We have 15 nights in the camper and so far so good.

Do you have any more info of the satellite dish recall ? I will surely check mine, thanks for the info

I would hope that Fleetwood monitors this forum would be very interesting to hear how "Fleetwood" respond to this list of poor quality issues in their workmanship.

Yes, we all anticipate some minor issues to occur, but to me, these are clearly a lack of quality in the manufacturing process.

I am also reading multiple posts on another RV Forum about the the recent poor quality of workmanship coming out of Fleetwood.

I have been fortunate with minimal issues on our 2014, but if this becomes Fleetwood's reputation, then we all hurt on the resale of our RV's.

Agreed I expected minor problems as well. I had a 2014 Forest River Sunseeker and it was a champ. No real issues for 30,000 miles. Dealer fixed the most recent issues today. They said they submitted the satelite dish and roof replacement to Fleetwood for approval. We will see what they say and I will post answer here. I believe in being fair always. I own a business and sometimes eventhough you hate to do it for one reason or another you make decisions that are fair for the customer. Thats why I have been in business for 40 years.

Jim & Linda are correct about the quality issues, but it is not just Fleetwood.

I have been subscribed to forums with Winnebago, Forest River, Tiffin, and now Fleetwood.

They are all the same. Some people have good luck with no major problems and fix the small stuff themselves, while others have serious problems and spend months in the shop. Anyone who does not have at least a basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and structurall repairs will spend a lot of time in the shop as there always seems to be something needing repaired and components malfunctioning. But with the money we spend on these units and the many years the manufacturers have been designing RVs we should be able to expect the major structural stuff to be in perfect working order.

Another problem is that there are so many RV's being built in Indiana there is a shortage of highly qualified assembly techs. If a person gets fired from one company for lack of quality they can go down the street and work for someone else.

It seems that with the RV industry booming the manufacturers are turning out the units as fast as they do not take the time to check them out closely enough. When we picked up our new Southwind we spent over two hours doing the pre delivery inspection checking out every system and component in detail. We  then made a service appointment to bring the unit back to the dealership  two weeks later to address the issues we found during the shakedown cruise. Fortunately only minor issues and they were all fixed in a day.  General RV in Dover Fl did a good job for us. I will share our experience with the unit as we get some more miles on it (4000 so far)

Purchase a new 2015 Fleetwood Bounder, 35 K at the end of January 2015.  Had a few minor issues to begin with and a couple since then.  So far, nothing serious.  About to start the 2018 travel season.  Had look at a new 2018  Bounder 35 P.  Love the opposing slides that opened up the living area.  Yet, I will not purchase a new RV, as the horror stories keep coming every day.  We will make due with our unit.

Having lived in Northern Indiana for 15 years and provided high end hardwood wood products for the RV market, I am well aware of the employment situation in that area.  Many of the manufacturers, have their employees on an incentive system that is geared to production and not to quality.

So Fleetwood agreed to repair the roof not replace it. I will have a 3 month old coach with a major roof repair now. Thanks Fleetwood. I hope they understand the consequences of their decisions. I will spread my story to anyone that will listen. I am a business owner and word of mouth is everything. Also just realized that my grey and black tanks capacity is far less than advertised
