As an owner of a Fleetwood RV still under maintenance I researched places nearest me to have my RV serviced for warranty related items, Holiday RV in Jefferson, IA was closest in proximity so I contacted the service center and talked with the service manager Dennis about my concerns.  He stated that all the items appeared to be warranty related and they would have to take a look.  He then asked if I purchased my unit from them or somewhere else, I stated it was not purchased through them but was still under manufacturer warranty and Fleetwood RV listed them as an official service center.  He gave me the e-mail for the service center to send the list of things to.  Meanwhile I called Fleetwood RV REV group and opened a note with them that I would be taking the unit to them for some items and they confirmed Holiday RV was in fact an official warranty provider.

Later that day I received an e-mail from the service manager that I am sorry but we are only working on units that we sold. I would suggest seeing if you can get in to the service center at the factory. Again I am sorry.

I feel as a customer who purchased a large ticket item and as part of that was to be delivered a 1 year warranty, and as a customer searched out an official Fleetwood RV warranty service center that I was not treated fair.  I did nothing wrong and held up my end of the deal but the service center choose to make it a point that protecting their business by refusing customers that were not customers of theirs.  I also plan to file a complain with the State of Iowa Consumer office on this matter.

Look to the bright side of your experience.

You are a day’s drive from the Fleetwood Service Center in Decatur, Indiana. They will provide courteous, knowegable, and prompt service. Who knows what you would get from a local dealer who is only interested in selling motorhomes, not in creating satisfied customers.

We received our warranty service from the dealer where we purchased our motorhome. Took weeks to get the coach in for service, then was like a roach motel where the coach went in and came out weeks later, even for the smallest of repairs. Since we are out of warranty, we always take the coach to the Fleetwood Service Center in Coburg, Oregon. They are friendly, courteous, and usually complete repairs in one or two days. Last time there we met an owner from Fresno CA whose local dealer was unable to diagnose his electrical problems over several visits. He drove two days to get to Coburg, expecting to fly home and return later to pick up the coach. They correctly diagnosed the problems and had him on his way the next day.
