2017 Discovery AC thermostat

The front temperature sensor (of three AC units) mostly measures the outside temperature instead of the inside since it is very close to the driver side window. I have moved it a few inches but that didn't help much. As is, it is almost impossible to use since I have to guess what the outside temperature will be. For example with the Utah morning sun the front sensor says it is 95 degrees inside and the mid sensor says it is 77. Has anyone tried to relocate this sensor? I have talked to Fleetwood but with not much results.

Bob, Not sure why your front sensor would be measuring such a high temp, unless it is in the direct sun. Does it read normal during the night? There is currently a discussion on the DOAI (Discovery Owners) forum dealing with AC thermostat issues. Join up and post your issue. You will get a lot of advise from other Discovery owners.

It is not in the sun and has the same problem when cold out. The air just 12" from the driver side window is just too affected by the outside air. The real question is how to relocate the thermostat.

Bob, we're having the exact same issue on our LXE 40D. I'm anxious to see what solutions the forum suggests

Glad to know because this is a design issue. I've asked for a wiring drawing but have not received it yet.

I received the wiring diagram but have not yet decided to attempt to relocate the sensor or not. It is part of the wiring harness that goes behind the front TV so it can be reached. I'm just not sure anyplace on the front cabinets is much better. Still debating.

I have replaced a sensor on our coach.  Just some think braided 2 wire (iirc) cable and small wire nuts.  Should be simple to extend.  I'd get enough cable to test it before I spent much time fishing cable to the new location.

I'm betting it's the sensor itself.  They're cheap.

Fairly certain it is not the sensor in this case. The new design eliminated the small fans at the front which I agree don't look very good. I had a small clip on 120 volt fan that I clip on the steering wheel when parked and blow air across the front sensor. This helps  a lot since it lets the sensor see a more accurate air temperature.
