No Hot Water From Truma Instant HW Heater

We just bought a new 2018 Fleetwood Discovery LXE 40G and we are first time RVers so I am sure it is a rookie error. Set up last night on our first trip and can't get hot water from the Truma HW. I turned the HW system on in all 3 locations but I do not get an LED light on the dial in the closet. The FireFly system shows propane full and then apparently loses connectivity to the propane monitor as it shows an x in the propane position.

    Any suggestions?

I finally got mine to work by: Propane valve open, on Firefly Water Heater On, in Truma recess outside the RV On, switch in bathroom cabinet to On.  If you have the light on, I'd check the propane valve.  Maybe the Water Heater bypass in the water utility compartment?

Have had similar issues and finally talked to Truma rep to get it solved.  He had me make sure the unit was turned on all 3 places (on the unit, Firefly, and knob under sink).  Then he had me turn the knob under sink off, then back on and then i got the LED and the system started working.

He also told me to be careful not to turn the knob to the clean mode unless that is what you intend to do.  if you do that, you will need to turn it back to the comfort setting and run water for approximately 20 minutes so that it will finish the cleaning cycle.

    Hope this helps!

I am sure you will get your issues resolved through Fleetwood. You could also go to DOAI (Discovery Owners Association) Join up and post your issues on the forum. You will get great advise from other Discovery owners.

I had the same issue the first time out with my 2021 Pace Arrow 36U. The problem was solved by turning off the outside shower valves, opening the bathroom and kitchen hot water faucets, resetting the control under the master sink, and turning on the fire fly hot water control. Apparently the outside shower valves kept the system from working. Thanks to Shaun at Fleetwood we corrected the problem and now have hot water on demand.
