Samantha and I had a great time at the FMH West Rally!  We met such wonderful people and learned a ton of important info.

So here my first question to the group.  We’re driving a 16 Fleetwood Bounder 33C.  Its a gasser.  The front grill is basically wide open.   On our way through Texas we got hit with a ton of bugs so our coils are now packed with bugs and looks like some bent coils (possibly from rocks).  I’m looking for a solution to protect them.

Looks like this should be a common problem, but haven’t been able to find much info online and nothing on the FMA forums.

Has anyone put a screen over the coils behind the front grill to make it easier to clean the bugs off and protect agains rocks?

Appreciate any and all help.  If you don’t know, can you point me a direction?

    Much appreciated!

I have just recently installed a screen (from Home Depot) directly behind the front grill on our 2014 Southwind and a second one in front of the radiator.

It is being held on with plastic cable ties.

Catches the bugs and also stops stones from hitting the fins on the rad.

    Total cost approx. $15.00.

When it gets too dirty or torn I will replace it and keep my rad in great shape.
