I have been RVing for a number of years and have now made a purchse of a 2007 FW Providence.  My problem is that I am have a devil of a time trying to get the hood  open to access the generator and the windshield washer tank. I know it will open because the previous owner had it open when I was looking at it to buy.  I have searched a number of forums and gotten instructions but none seem to work when trying to open the hood. After turning the keys to unlock does it pull up and out or just what. there is very little room to lift and pull. Any suggestions?

    Billy,

I have the same issue with my Providence.  Once, after I unlocked the latches I tried lifting up the key while it was still in the lock.  It worked but also bent the key.  Fortunately it did not break it.

I just crawl under the front end and push out on the bottom of the hood.  I recommend having someone on the outside to keep it from slamming open if you push too hard.  I is not very convenient but works.

I hope someone has a better solution.

I did find on line (Amazon) some very small pulls that fit the locking system on the unit. very thin washer-like that has a small "pull tab" that should work. Should have them by Tuesday and will see how that turns out.

Update on the pull tabs. You an find them on amazon called  RC Designer L539 Finger Pull Compartment Lock.  They have to be modified a bit because they are a bit large to fit because of the design of the hood.  A drimel drill or a grinding wheel will work great to cut it down to size to fit correctly. I have new locks ordered since I broke the key off in one of them.
