talking with a nephew, could it be a load of iron water in the hot water heater---that being the case, the heat would result in a sulpher smell....hhhmmmm

Drain and flushed hot water tank......I do this twice a year just to keep it fresh. You can get a special wand that attaches to your hose from Camping World.

Drained the entire system today, filled the water tank with about 15 gallons of water and one of bleach (the rec ratio as per the owners manual)...flushed all lines, filling the hot water tank...let it sit for 7 hours, and just emptied the bleach wash with cold water....I would say the sulpher smell is gone, but really all I can say is it smells like bleach...won't camp for a few weeks, but will report back on the result....I do like the flush recommendation above....I have a 2 gallon pump weed spray tank that I will devote to the hot water tank flush and rinse....that will make the project more simple for on the road, and most of the problem is probably the heater tank anyway...

After the bleach flush mentioned above, we have been living in our motorhome for two weeks.  Sulpher smell is gone so the treatment worked.  Have talked with two other RVers who do that procedure once a year as part of regular maintenance.  It turns out any iron in the water will do that if let to set in the system.  Also swapped the water filter for one bought at Walmart.  The filter was in the home section of the store, not the RV supplies.  WalMart sells them for $5.00 each, and RV stores sell them for about $25.00.  Recommended change rate is every 6-8 weeks.
