We are looking for a portable floor console to place between driver and passenger seats, in lieu of using the removable table - would appreciate your experiences and suggestions.

The table is not functional when you are traveling and that is a lot of valuable floor space we could use for travel accessories.

    Thanks

Good question. We're looking for something that would work there too but so far have come up short. Might have to custom build something onto a shortened spare table post/base. With all the class A's out there with a similar setup a solution should come along.

Hugh thanks for the note - Linda suggested ottomans so I have been looking at ottomans with drink holders - haven't found the one yet - when we were camping this week we took some measurements and we need something that is about 18"x18"x18", it's a pretty big area.

When not being used as a console in transit it could be used as a foot rest for the driver chair.

The configuration of the Excursion dash doesn't provide a lot of space.

When I find something I'll share it.

    Safe travels.

As a temp solution we purchased a 50 qt igloo cooler - it gives us 4 cup holders and flat surface area to work with on the top - using the interior of the cooler to store paperwork - when we are parked it fits nicely in front of passenger seat.

We also found some V shaped plastic holders that fit nicely in the area to the left of the drivers seat, great for cell phone, etc.....

Ralph, we're looking for a solution, too. My wife bought a 15" cube ottoman with a cushioned seat top. We're thinking we would like to find a table top with cup holders that will rest securely on the padded seat - kinda like the old wooden ones that were used for passenger van modifications back in the 70's. We'll post here when we find something we like.

Where did you find the 'V' shaped holders for next to the driver's area?

    Thanks!

We've since tried a couple of things. First was a "C" table we had from our old RV. Its about 15x17 and since it only has the one leg on one side it makes it easy for the passenger to get out of the seat while moving to run down the latest rattle. The one we have it too tall as it blocks view of the radio so the final solution might be a custom build.

We also tried a lightweight table I built for another purpose but it ended up being too big and with four legs made it difficult to move around. I did locate an ottoman on Amazon that has a reversible top between a tray and cushion but we've decided that the "C" table provides better access.

On the side of the drivers area I made two wedge shaped pieces of wood and mounted a piece of plexiglass between them at the angle between the window edge and the dash. Its about 16" long and provides a surface for attaching suction mounts for a GPS, TPMS, and wireless toad brake. By using it I can  still open the window.

I also noted the lack of consul place in our Excursion 33D....the cup holder is too far forward on the dash and on the left side----contrary to my righty preference.....so we searched on line and saw one we though would work for about $40....then shopping in WalMart, we saw the same one for $29.00...we picked it up, I put 2X4 cross pieces under it to raise it 2", painted the wood to match the gray color of the consul and it works great...it does have cup holders in the back (for a back seat if used in a van or pickup) but all in all it fits the purpose perfectly, and looks like original equiptment....if you search on line look for "consul", with maybe truck in front of consul....

We have a 35B.  We had a wooden C-table from Camping World from a previous RV.  Although usable, it was too high and blocked the radio, so I built a similar one only shorter (it fits under the part of the dash that sticks out).  Found a 2 cup adjustable cup holder at O'Reilly's and mounted it on the table.  We'll give it a test run in a couple of days.

Richard. Sounds like where I'm headed. Can you send more details about the cup holder you found?
