Nineteen days after plucking down $122,276 on a brand new 2016 Fleetwood Bounder 35K, my wife and I still can’t drive the RV an inch off our parking spot at the Davis Monthan AFB Family Camp.

That’s because on December 11, a mere 10 miles from the dealership, the brakes on the new coach's F-53 Ford Chassis failed while driving it on I-10.

Now the local Tucson, AZ., Ford dealer is telling us nowhere in the massive Ford Motor Company inventory is a replacement module for the anti-lock brake system needed to make the coach roadworthy again.

Shared this with Fleetwood Dec 28 but heard no response from them as of Dec. 30. No response from Ford dealership since Dec 23, the day they TOWED the RV back to the air base so we could spend Christmas in the coach. The propane ran dry since we can't drive the RV to get it filled and this morning's low in Tucson was 32 degrees. I am an unhappy camper.

Update: Fleetwood did contact me Dec 31 asking our Bounder status. Told them Ford dealership here in Tucson told me Dec 30 "still no fix date for receipt of $600 brake module." Fleetwood is talking to Ford regards the brake module, but I've heard nothing from Ford corporate after I contacted them earlier this week....

After a 3-week wait, Ford pulled a brake module off F-53 assembly line and sent it to Arizona to replace failed module on my 2016 Bounder 35K. Took most of day to install, bleed and road test. Drove it 17 miles and warning lights again came on dash indicating failed brake module. Adding insult to injury, it rained heavily Friday and we learned the "new" Bounder roof leaks in three places. Disgruntled...

I think it is time for you to find out if there is an rv lemon law in your state.  Perhaps your base legal advisors could assist you in that or at least give you some legal advice.

Lemon laws basically require three or four attempts to fix a vehicle's problems, or unable to use the vehicle for 30 or more days. Ford installed the replacement brake module on day 28 so no luck on that one. I thought Fleetwood would do the right thing and allow a swap of equal value 35K, our let me upgrade to a DP, but no luck there either. Now have to tow the Bounder back to Ford for the 3rd time. I'll check with base legal. Thanks.

After 8 days and four attempts to repair brake issue, technicians at Ford dealership replaced ABS module harness connector after discovering pin 28 not making contact with module. Lights came on again during test drive. Located ground G108 on left side of engine compartment. All 4 ground eye lids painted creating intermittent open circuit to C1202 which kept relay from energizing. Cleaned eyelets and frame, installed new ground bolt and road tested normal. During return trip to RV park, noted right headlight burned out again after being replaced just 12 days ago. Service advisor thinks "there may be a short."

Latest update on brake issues experienced with my 2016 Bounder 35K driven just 275 miles since purchase on Dec 11, 2015. Been towed to dealer four times and 19 days in shop seeking a fix.

March 4, 2016,  Fleetwood informed with the following:

My Ford contact who is the Modified Vehicle Manager for Ford Fleet Service Operations tells me that Ford has identified the issue. It will require the PCM to be re-flashed with new software that corrects a BOO switch timing issue and there is actually nothing wrong with the ABS.

As I understand it, the BOO switch is the brake on-off switch.

He states the correction will be available in two weeks.
