Greetings! I just purchased my first ever motorhome and was wondering about a few things to improve handling wheel stability when driving. I feel as when I am driving on the highway and big trucks or gust of winds pass me by, I loose a little of wheel control and the vehicle tends to shift off the lane a little bit. It makes driving a little more tense.

Is there anythig I can do to improve stability? Do I need to install some rear tract bars or the Ox blue steering stabilizer?

I just bought a 2015 fleetwood Expedition 38b. I noticed this as I was driving home (6hrs.) from the dealership.

    THANKS! and happy camping!

Welcome to driving big boxy motor homes. I'd suggest you sign up at www.irv2.com and explore the forums.  Your question is much too involved to address in a simple email.  Also consider joining FMCA chapters to get the benefit of members collective experience. And going to FMCA, Good Sam and other group rallys to mine the seminars and vendors participating.  Enjoy your RVing experience.

We have a  2013 Fleetwood Bounder.  I haves spoken to several RVers who have stabilizers and many who do not.  All that have them like it, especially those that have had a tire blow out.  We are planning to put put it on soon.  Problem is there are several different types and they all claim to be the best.  Rallies and forums are a great place to get info but it will come down to what you think is best for you.  FMCA and Camping world/Good Sam are great sources.  Good luck.

Javier, I have a 2006 Bounder Diesel and had the Stabilizer put on at the 5th Annual Rally and have found they do help. I would recommend you try to get them at the next Rally. Good luck

Thanks to all of you!!! Great to have you guys around! I indeed ended up installing the safety plus system. I noticed some difference on the way the rig feels when going above 65 miles per hour. It feels more stable and certainly less struggle when trucks pass you at 80 miles an hour. Even my wife is driving it now without much difficulty. Thanks again kindly! Javier

I had the same problem on my 34 ft

i installed panhard bars front and back to keep the body from moving on the springs laterally , a steering stabalizer will help as well

i finally got a Spartan chassis and air suspension with a purchase of a 40 ft American Tradition , hardly notice big trucks now
