location of power step 12V fuse in 2007 Bounder 33R gas chassis

Our power step suddenly stopped working in the retracted position.  The Owners manual describes the step power circuit  as located in a drivers side compartment - only I don't find one. It is not in the chassis fuse panel under a removable cover on the left end of the dash, nor the 12V fuse panel on the rear bedroom wall. The front right compartment (over the propane tank) has battery management, various electrical controls, and a few single fuses, but nothing for the step.

The starting battery has several positive leads attached; one powers the step (and perhaps more).

The step owners manual calls for a fuse or circuit breaker to be installed.  Nothing is visible on any exposed wiring.

     Any suggestions appreciated.

it could also just be a bad 'ground' connection to the step

Thanks, ground checked ok.  Motor bad. No reply from Fleetwood regarding possible breaker/fuse location - may have to add one.

If your step is by Kwikee then the fuse is a 'fusible' installed in the actual circuit at the step actuator.  It is in a sealed rubber box about 2 inches long with a couple of screws holding it together.  At least, that is what I found on our Kwikee when I rebuilt it.
