We have little to no air flow to the vents in the rear of the coach from the rear AC.  Does anyone else have this problem and does anyone have a solution?  It just came from the shop where they replaced the AC unit, it blows cold now, but still no airflow.

We have a '99 Bounder 34J. We had both A/C units replaced a few years ago because we scraped them off on a railroad bridge in Canada ... but that's another story. The front replacement unit didn't seem to work as well as the original - it would blow cold out of the unit itself, but not much air flow from the associated ducted registers. I did some poking around on my own and saw that the transition duct (that's what I'll call it) from the cold air outlet chamber of the A/C unit, through the warm air inlet chamber, to the in-ceiling ducting appeared to be misaligned and appeared to be about 75% blocked at the ceiling duct end. The transition duct had been installed with some of that sticky aluminum tape. I got some of the tape, removed the work they had done and reinstalled this duct myself. However, this time, rather than going pretty much straight across, the duct had an upward tilt in it - I'd say about 20 degrees. I then had much more air flow from the forward registers, I'd say as much as we had before the incident.

I must say, however, that I have never been satisfied with the amount of air that EVER came out of ANY of the ceiling registers from EITHER of the A/C units, but especially the front ones. I tried closing the registers on the units themselves, thus, theoretically, diverting the airflow to the ceiling ducting. This resulted in a modest increase in airflow from the ceiling registers, but, IMHO, an overall significant reduction in the total airflow, and, consequently, reduced overall cooling efficiency to the coach interior. So I now run with all registers completely open. Maybe others in the Forum could offer opinions on this topic for my education.

    Regards, EdC
