new to the forum, have a 93 Montera and having tires checked today, had a blowout a few months ago so like to know what age tire does everyone consider time to replace rear duals and also fronts? Tread is good but 5-7 years old. thx

5 to 7 years is the normal life for tires. Tires normally do not wear out, they get old. they break down.

NOTE: If your a full timer w/ regular use, you might get 10 years out of your tires.

At the recommendation of several truckers, my RV broker, and lots of research, I put 4 Yokohama TY517 MC2 tires on the rear of my 2005 Fleetwood, Revolution LE. The ride is much improved over the worn tires that I had on my motorhome. I work all over the country in any weather and I take my home with me most of the time in all weather conditions and this tire was superior over all others that I investigated. Compare the tire specs to others and check the prices.

The specifications from their brochure follow:

The front tires were new so I haven't had to deal with those yet. The TY517 are drive tires.

At the age you say your tires are, it's time to get new tires. Most RV tires are always heavily loaded; they don't wear out, they age out. I once drove on 12 year old RV tires, before I knew better; I was just plain lucky. I suggest you join FMCA to take advantage of Michelin Fleet pricing plan. Excellent tires, probably more load capacity than your OEM tires, just get ready for a cost of about $400 per tire.
