watching sat TV on bedroom or external TV

    Dumb question #2:

I recently got a  2013 Providence 42P and I'm trying to figure it out!

I got the sat RV (Directv) to work on the midships TV set.  It works fine there.

I can't get it to show on either the bedroom TV or the external TV.  The instruction sheet seems to imply that it should work on both (and it makes sense that it would).

Does anyone know if I should be able to make it work on the bedroom and/or external TV ?

I plug the output of the receiver into a set of "component" wires that seem like they should drive the external TV but it does not display.  With that input selected it only shows "OFF" on the screen.  I spent a couple of hours with Sony support people and they assured me that this condition can't ever occur (in spite of the fact that it actually does!)

    Thanks, Dave.

    Hi Dave,

I have a 2012 Expedition 38S.  I ask Fleetwood for the wiring schmatics for the entertainment system and they sent them to me.  On my coach the sat system does not route to the bedroom TV or the external TV.  Seems odd I know, but (at least on mine) the wires are simply not there.

Thanks very much for your help.

I contacted Fleetwood for a wiring diagram and they sent it to me and gave me a lot of detailed help.  I was very impressed with both the speed and scope of their response.

They do have wiring for all the TVs and told me how to hook it all up.  I tried it out and it does work.  Now all I have to do is convince DirectTV to send me a couple of new receivers.

That, plus figure out why the ABS warning light is on.  :)

    Dave,

I just picked up my 2014 Bounder which has four TVs (upfront, midship, bedroom and exterior). I got the same impression from the single page sheet for television usage. I got the same response from a Lazydays technician and a Fleetwood customer service person. The front and midship TVs both work on the front satellite receiver and the bedroom and external TVs both work on the same satellite receiver. So, the single sheet manual is correct if you read between the lines and know that you need two satellite receivers in order to watch satellite at each TV. I will email you a drawing which Fleetwood sent me regarding the interconnections.

    Regards
    Jim
