Hi all,

About a year ago we brought a 2013 Expedition 38S.  We've become convinced the full wall side goes out about 3-4" too far.  This causes a gap in the floor big enough for a chair leg to fit into and opens up a hole in the floor that lets in cold air and other things.  The slide appears to be designed so that when it extends and drops down to floor level a metal lip on the slide seals against a rubber strip set in to the coach body.  This would seal the slide floor solve the problem we're having with it.

Our problem is caused by, I think, the slide going out too far.  The slide ends up about a quarter inch higher than the main floor and the metal lip that looks like it should match up with the rubber strip misses it by about 3-4".  Oddly enough, the molding at both ends of the slide is flush against the sidewall of the coach.

The slide position is causing several issues:

1. There's a groove in the floor that runs the entire length of the slide that's about 3" wide and 1" deep.  This groove is covered by carpet but if you happen to position a kitchen chair so that one leg is over the groove the carpet gives way and the chair will almost dump you.  I expect the carpet to eventually rip also.

2. Since the slide doesn't match the level of the main floor (it sets about 1/4 inch higher) it causes a bump right in front of the kitchen sink.  Consequently, when you're standing at the kitchen sink or stove your toes are on this lip.  Try laying a 1/4" of something down in front of your stove or sink and do any work with your toes constantly on it.  It's very uncomfortable.

3. There's a notch cut into the body of the coach for the kitchen sink drain hose to seat in when the slide is retracted.  Because the slide goes out too far this notch is revealed.  It's so big I can actually push my hand through it.

I'd like to hear from other Fleetwood owners.  Do you have the same issues with the slide?  Is it actually designed this way?

Is more complex.  I'm trying to illustrate my opinion that the "Metal Lip" should rest on the "Rubber strip" and thereby completely remove the problem.
