Steering stabilizer.

Hello to the Forum.   I have a 2024 Fleetwood Discovery 40’LXE.   It has a Freightliner XCM  chassis.  I’d like to install a steering stabilizer.  I see the Blue Ox which looks like a steering damper - a horizontal shock absorber. I see other designs that use a horizontal mounted spring.

one question I have is whether the stabilizer makes turning  the steering wheel intentionally a more difficult task.  And another is whether the stabilizer increases the load / wear on the power steering pump.

    thanks

I am not a mechanic, but to my understanding. Steering stabilizers help the RV track straighter down the road. Keeps it from swaying back and forth. It doesn't cause any excessive wear on any part of the RV.

A lot of my fellow RVers have installed a Safe-T-Plus stabilizer and the steering is much better and it also provides safety in case of a front tire blowout.

I'm installing it on May 22nd and if you like, I can let you know how it turns out.
