We purchased a 2023 Fleetwood Fortis that was made in 6/2022 on a Ford Chassis made 12/2021 in Georgia it is being tagged and titled as a 2022. Where is the resale?, we looked at same model offered as a 2022 Fortis and was $10 K cheaper. But did not know the other dates on chassis vs coach mfd dates. I was told by sales this was common and different in many states.

While it is not unusual for the chassis to be built in a previous year the final assembly date is normally the model year.  Our 2008 Discovery had a 2007 freightliner chassis but was titled as a 2008 in Georgia. Demand for chassis,' has manufacturer's place orders well in advance of an actual order for a coach. If orders fail to materialize they end up with chassis' that are older than the coach. In the volatile supply lines that surrounded Covid  I would think that issue created more coach builds and caused more chassis body miss matches.

it was very strange when I received a check from Georgia tag office of overpayment $81 for the 2022 vs a 2023. which will title it as 2022 and might play a roll someday for sale or trade, Trade should not be an issue they SHOULD understand it, but I'm sure they also will bring it up :(. but for now i will accept it as is. not loose sleep over it.
