refurbishing inside

This 95 Tioga Class C was used very roughly the past few years.  The single lady that lived in it was none to careful and smoked incessantly.   Needless to say everything needs cleaned or replaced.  We have managed to get most of the smoke residue removed, but the smell is still there but not as bad.

After we finish cleaning we want to do something with the walls.  What works best?  Painting?  New wallpaper?  Wood veneer?  We want to make this comfy, clean and neat for us to use.

If it were me I would either replace the wall paper or the luan (veneer) on the inside. Of course it would be easier to do the wall paper.
