Loose roadside mirror

    Hello!

We are out on our first trip in our 2022 Discovery LXE 40M. Everything is perfect EXCEPT the driver side mirror is extremely wobbly, and after 30 minutes at highway speed seemed like it might break off its pedestal. We stopped and used an Allen wrench to tighten it as the manual described, and it seemed more secure, but it continued to shake and vibrate. After 3 hours of driving, it was just as loose again. We had to tighten it 3 times on our 8 hour trip from Tampa to Georgia. This made for a very distracting challenging first trip.We traded in our 2021 Landmark Newport 356 fifth wheel, which we pulled with a Denali dualie with no driving concerns. We are worried about the drive home, and aren’t finding any tips in our manuals or online.

    Thank you,

    Michele And Doug Amoroso

I had the same issue. After tightening several times I finally took some locktite and applied to the screw.  It worked, not sure about removing it if I needed but will deal with that if I ever have too.

Mike- once I had a chance to pull out those set screws, I found them to be oily! Never had a chance to hold up. After cleaning with brake cleaner, I applied the Red Locktite (which is removable) and so far, all is well!
