Add Service Valves to a Mach 8 AC Unit

One of our two AIRXCEL/Coleman Mach 8 AC units has developed a leak and no longer cools.  These units are sealed and do not come with service valves.  Sadly, replacements are not available from AIRSCEL due to supply chain issues.  They claim it could be months before new units are available for sale.

I have an AC tech willing to install service valves to locate, and hopefully repair the leak.  Once the leak is fixed he can pressurize the system and we're back in business assuming there are no other failures.  Just curious if anyone in the group has attempted this?

I will answer my own post.  My AC repair tech was able to revive my Mach 8.  There was a pin hole leak in one of the refrigerant lines.  The tech added a service port to the low pressure side, pressurized the system, and found the leak.  He repaired the leak by soldering the copper line where the pin hole was located and the unit now works perfectly.

FYI to anyone in the same situation with a malfunctioning AC unit and a replacement is not available.

Congratulations Richard!  That's awesome.  Finding an A/C Tech willing to do this is difficult most of the time.  It's good news you found one and with positive results!
