We recently purchased the Motorhome. It has a propane/electric water heater. When I am hooked up to power, I use the switch in front of the sink that has a "microwave" side and a "water heater"side. The electric waterheater side works great. Lots of hot water (10 gallons). I have looked everywhere in the motorhome for a switch that will change from electric to propane.  I want to boondock without using the generator for hot water.

Do any owners of that model Bounder have any  information or suggestions for me?

    Thank you.

On these older systems, the switch you are looking for is located at the water heater itself. It lets you select Electric or Propane.

    Good morning, Pete.

    Thank you for the reply.

Is it at the front of the water heater? My model does not have a switch on the panel accessed from the outside. I looked under and behind the water heater, and the cover was screwed in tight and had been for a long time. Would the switch be behind the front where the control board, burner, regulator, etc. is located?

     Best Regards,

I have a 2001 36S Bounder which is quite similar.  The propane water heater on my coach has a rocker switch on the left side of the face of the cook top exhaust vent.  It also has a light indicating if the propane water heater is on.  I see how this could be easily overlooked.  Zoom in on the attached pic and you will see it.
