Peeling, Flaking Upholstery

RV owners from across the entire market have been experiencing the poor performance of cheap, inferior upholstery used by Flexsteel roughly 2012-2016.

We have found ourselves to now be in this unenviable group, but are pleased to say we have found a source to help with replacement covers.

Bauer RV Upholstery in Dubuque, Iowa is a relatively new company that started up following the closure of the Flexsteel RV Division.

They are all experienced, long term, previous employees of Flexsteel and are using the original seat patterns and high quality "Ultra-Leather" to build exact replacements.

We are currently at their facility having ours replaced and can say with all confidence, the quality of the Ultra-Leather and workmanship is absolutely tops.

If you are experiencing peeling or flaking vinyl upholstery, check out bauerrvupholstery.com and get your RV back to looking like new again.

Great to hear! Fortunately 4 yrs ago, was able to reach a Flexsteel rv customer service rep, 25 yrs in the business, she was able to help me find the model/sku tags in all the furniture,  and with that new covers in Ultra Leather were made, shipped to my installer, fit like a glove.  I had asked her why such a poor product was used on my 2014 Bounder Flexsteel furniture, and she said we used the products the rv companies requested for their rvs.  She agreed a poor product, but low cost to the rv companies.

Originally, I thought the problem of the deteriorating upholstery was a problem created by FlexSteel, but have since learned that it was actually the RV manufacturers that requested and or supplied the inferior product to FlexSteel.

The fault lies with Fleetwood, Newmar and Tiffin etc for not researching the product enough before using it in their RV's.

It was following these blunders that FlexSteel decided to get out of the RV furniture business. Interestingly, they used Covid as the excuse for exiting the RV market ....... ok if that's what you want the public to think.

Between the RV manufacturers and FlexSteel, they have left their loyal customers with the unsightly furniture and expense of replacing the upholstery in order to fully enjoy their RV's.

To me, it shows that profits are more important than "truly" standing behind your product, and ensuring your customer retention.
