Ned - We also have a 2008 Providence purchased in August. Not sure what you mean by mood lights, but if you call Fleetwood at 800-322-8216 (ext 2) they can give you part numbers for anything. Have your VIN or Fleetwood ID number available. You can also order things from them, but for something small the shipping costs would probably make it not worthwhile. Or you can take the old bulb to a Camping World or probably any good Camping or RV place and they can probably identify a replacement.
Totally different subject - One thing we found was that our Cummins engine was not programmed right. The engine retarder was not really giving good breaking power even when just exiting off the interstate. We went to a large Cummins servce center and they plugged in the diagnostic laptop and found that the engine thought it was in a vehicle with a clutch, so it was waiting for a clutch signal to engage the VGT (Variable Geometry Turbocharger) which is what provides the engine back pressure. We were getting the transmission downshifting but not the engine breaking. An easy fix and much better breaking performance. The coach had less than 8000 miles when we bought it in Wisconsin and I'm sure the prior owner never suspected anything was wrong. We live in Arizona and have some serious mountains so we were very concerned, but now we are happy campers and have put about 4000 additional miles on it just in the past 3 months.
We also took it to Fleetwoods drop in service at the factory. They did a good job for us on some minor things and between talking to the techs and taking the factory tour we learned a lot. The guide at the factory tour is the one who clued us in to the solution to the breaking issue. Our prior MH was a 1998 Dutch Star and while we were happy with it, we are very pleased with the additional room of 3 slides and all the improvement in the technology over 10 years.
Best wishes,
Gary and Lynn
