We are new to RVing and just purchased a 2021 Southwind 35k. While the dealership has been helpful, there are many questions we can’t seem to get timely or correct answers to. Would love to establish a mentor-like relationship with someone who has experience with this particular model as well as RVing in general.

WE HAVE A 2019 SOUTHWIND 35K SINCE NEW AND LIKE IT VERY MUCH. WISH IT HAD MORE POWER CLIMBING HILLS, WE TOW A 4 DOOR HONDA 4 CYLINDER WITH A 5 SPEED STICK SHIFT AND IT WORKS FINE BUT THAT IS THE MAX. WEIGHT WE CAN PULL . THAT TOE CAR WEIGHS ABOUT 3700 LBS. THE TWO BATHROOMS HELPS WHEN YOU ARE 80 YR OLD. THE TOILET FLUSHING SYSTEM IS NOISY BUT OK AS LONG AS WE FLUSH EXTRA WATER ALL THE TIME. WE HAVE 17,000 MILES SO FAR AND KEEP IT IN A CLOSED GARAGE. WE WERE THINKING OF A DIESEL BUT HARD TO JUSTIFY $250,000 MORE IN COST! GOOD LUCK AND LET US KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR SUGGESTIONS.

We have a 2014 Bounder 35K and have always been looking for people to bounce questions and answers off of.  We've had our coach for 3 yrs now and it has been pretty reliable so far. As for what we've had to repair or replace, 1 step motor, 1 toilet bowl seal, a quick fix on the fresh water pump wiring. A repair on the Antenna cable connection which was probably the most daunting of tasks as I hate opening anything on the roof but with the right materials it turned out to be a breeze. Personally I'd lose the roof antenna in a heart beat if I could, POS.

Best of luck with your investment , Don & Gina

ONE QUICK CAUTION. WHEN YOU ARE DRAINING HOT WATER FROM A PASTA BOWL BE CAREFULL AS THE P TRAO UNDER THE SINK CAN COME OFF AND FLUSH THAT WATER INTO THE SINK BOTTOM CABINET AND SPLASH WATER INTO THE OUTSIDE TV AND RADIO AREA SO MAKE SURE THE TRAP FITTINGS ARE TIGHT AND I PUT 10' OF BLACK DUCT TAPE ON THE DRAIN PIPE TO ENSURE NO MORE ACCIDENTS!

We have a 2018 Southwind 36P. It is our 5th rv and our 3rd new one. One thing we have learned, if you can make a mistake you will, and if something can break that is hard to figure out it will. We just finished a 6000 mile trip, one ac quit working, the toilet overflowed and water shorted out the inverter, a tow pin broke off and we almost lost our tow vehicle, the link that supports the sway bar broke and ruined a tire and parts were not available so we lost three days, the steps failed and had to have a new motor (luckily I carry a spare, )the bathroom door fell off from the ceiling due to the bad ride since the sway bar was broken, the brake buddy was too tight and the brakes on the toad burned up, and the toad lost a bolt on the front brake caliper and had to be put in a sho costing us two days. Just another normal trip.
