get a dish network tailgater its about 350.00. it sits outside your rv, use your current dish receiver from your home since you already pay for it, dish is very helpfull if you have correct receiver check their website, it receives all the same channels except it will be set up as to whatever channels you get at homs, again there is no extra charge. the tailgater finds the signal automatically and you dont need any extra wiring just plug into your regular cable inlet , again you will only receive your local channels

We purchased a "tailgater" and 201k box for our RV as dish advertised monthly service as customer may  request.  We have found the dish system very customer unfriendly.  First, if you let your monthly service elapse, because your "not on the road",  you get many telephone calls advising your monthly payment is due. Second, if you do not renew service on a monthly basis  you can not access your account via their web site to restart service when your "back on the road".  Third, if you telephone Dish, we have limited cell phone minutes, it takes them a very long time while on the telephone to restart your service.  Dish monthly RV  service is very difficult to get connected.

We had DirecTV in our previous coach and wanted to get local (network channels) when we traveled.  After a couple of years of getting "you can't do that", we finally got to the right folks in DirecTV who sent us a form to fill out.  We filled it out last year and mailed it off.  A few weeks later, we got an email and got in contact with them.  Turns out you have to have a separate DirecTV account to set up the traveler-type setup.  We did that and were able to get network channels (including PBS).  The new DirecTV account was for a minimum of two years.  We subsequently traded our older coach for our 2008 Providence, which had the older KVH antenna and was not useable for HD.   So we established a Dish account for the new RV.   Fortunately, our house account was also DirecTV so we were able to consolidate the "RV" account into the house account.  We now have Dish in the Providence, but will likely have to upgrade the coach antenna to a Winegard Traveler HD Dish antenna, as the "HD software upgrade" to the KVH antenna was successful, but less than satisfactory for HD reception (has to shift between satellites when changing stations and being a small oval dish under the dome, doesn't reliably find the satellites.)  Bottom line, getting network channels can be done (both with DirecTV and Dish) but it ain't easy!

We set-up a RV account with Direct 3 years ago and all I do is set-up the dish and call Direct and they switch my locals to wherever I am parked. Sometimes it takes going through more than one person until you get some one that understands the RV account. Today I setup in Leesburg, FL, made my call and within a couple of minutes I had my locals. I got real lucky today.
