Slide Override

Just bought 2006 Discovery 39L.  Wardrobe slide not going out and January is first available appt.  We can still camp but have to squeeze by the bed and no drawer access.  Anyone know how to override the motor and crank out the slide. Manuals say motor is in outside storage bay under the slide, but my inspection shows only wiring and relays, but no motor.  Can anyone help locate?

    Several points:

    1. Although you can manually crank a slide in or out it is not a simple thing to do. Lots of effort to get it moving manually.

    2.  Motor is visible from the basement or from inside under the bed if it is the slide that moves the bed.

    3.  Confirm you have power to the controller, as it could be a fuse.

    4.  If your controllers for the slides are the same, you can swap controllers wiring to see if the controller is bad.

    5. Not sure about REV center in Colburn, but expect like Decatur, if you drop in on Mondays they work you in some point during the week.

    6.  There are also Mobile RV mechanics that come to your site. Local campgrounds are a source for recommendations.

Allen, the slide motor is accessible behind the valance on the bottom of the cabinet.  There is a piece of trim that covers 4 screws.

You can remove that valance, unlock the brake, and manually crank the slide out with a crescent wrench.  It's not heavy.  My 39L had a problem with the same slide.  Turned out to be the brake not releasing.  Ended up pulling the bolts out that connect the motor to the shafts and it pushed in very easily.  Once in, I replaced the bolts to keep it in place.
