I have a 2020 Fleetwood Fortis. Does anyone else have an issue with keeping the coach in the traveling lane without having to constant fight the steering wheel. I am constantly having to correct steering. This does not seem normal - very stressful driving. Only 2000 miles on my RV so far. I have taken the coach to a truck alignment shop and minor adjustment was made. Just return from another short trip, still fighting the steering wheel. I think the Fortis is on a F-53 chassis? I am wondering about the steering stabilizer Fleetwood or Ford has put on this rig. I am going back for another front end inspection. Does anyone else that owns a Fortis have any issues keeping the coach in the travel lane??

I also purchased and had installed the Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizer. The Fortis has a Bilstein stabilizer already installed but the Safe-T-Plus was a good upgrade. You will see that the Safe-T_Plus is much heavier than the stock stabilizer. This and the steering adjustment made above certainly helped a lot but does not totally eliminate the problem. I am happy with the changes.

Thank you for the feedback. I spoke with FORD customer service this AM regarding this F53 chassis issue. I was told FORD would not do anything about the problem. FORD Rep. said I could install aftermarket items (steering stabilizer and rear sway bar) and that would possibly take care of my issues. I guess it's time to spend money to feel safe operating this RV - SINCE FORD IS NOT CONCERN ABOUT IT.

There is a lot of info on this in IRV2 and other forums. Be sure your tire pressures are correct according to mfg specs and that they are checked cold. Some people inflate them to the max shown on the tire, but when they get hot the pressure can rise 10-15 pounds and they are overinflated. You will probably find that the correct inflation is about 85 in the front and 90 on the rear cold.
