Weird electrical issues

I have posted this other places too so if you see it on another forum sorry for the repeat.

I own a 2011 Expedition 38b. This weekend I experienced something odd and wanted to see if anyone else has seen it or has ideas.

The coach has a TRC 40250 ATS with Surge protection. There is a display which shows both line voltages, amps, neutral status and ground status.

Ok...to the issue. I plugged into shore and everything was good for several hours...both ACs running...118V on both lines. After a few hours I thought it was getting warmer in the coach but it was 90 outside and we had been cooking so didn't think too much about it. I checked the display...netural was normal, ground showed normal but line 1 was 65V and line 2 was 178V. The display was flashing "Brown out" and it had shut down the AC compressors. I called the campground..they came.out..pulled my plug out just enough to get a meter probe in without disconnecting me (not something I would have done) and verified the voltage on my blades was the 65 and 178 respectively. They went back to the distribution panel and said it was good. They wanted to shut me down so I started the generator.

At this same time someone with me told me they felt a shock when they grabbed the door handle. This had occurred a couple of times with multiple people.

Starting the generator put all voltages back to normal and the person who felt the shock said when I did that they did not get shocked anymore.

The campground confirmed the voltage at the plug was good with me disconnected. We cleaned the blades on my cord (not really dirty and they had no burnt places) and plugged my coach back in. I shutdown the generator and all voltages were good for the rest of the day.

This morning everything was good for most of the morning but then a few hours into the morning I noticed Line 1 voltage was creeping down....it was at 100v and line 2 was up to 136V. I turned on the generator..things went to normal. I went back to shore and things are normal.again.

I know that a shock from the door handle is dangerous and indicates a voltage leak or a short along with a bad ground connection. It has me freaked out a little. What I don't understand is why it seems to occur over time. Why isn't it instantly there when I plug into shore. Could something be heating up to cause it but if that is true why does cycling from shore to gen and back "reset" it?

I am going home later today and plan on checking all grounds, inspecting connections and opening the ATS to look for damage.

I have never had this issue before so I am a bit stumped right now. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Sounds to me like the campground has an intermittent open neutral connection on their side of things  somewhere near the socket. They should have measured the voltage between ground and neutral. They should be within a few volts of each other.

I had the same issue last month.  It turns out the male plug on my 50Amp shore power cord was bad on one leg.  New plug end no more issues.
