My RV was parked under the cover built for it. Brake was set. It was on shore power. Slides were out.

Went outside this morning and the awning was out and jammed under the cover supports. Remotes wouldn't work, main box either. Put some pressure on awning and it retracted. Paint is scratched but it is working fine.

What would cause the awning to deploy on it's own? Do I have to worry about it happening again.

Hi David and Pepper,

Is your Discovery an LXE with Girard Awning?? I am guessing it is being you mentioned the paint getting scratched. If it is a Girard you should have two white remotes. Could be one of them got activated some way. I know I bumped one of mine once and the awning extended. Did not know it was happening until I heard it make a little noise when it fully extended. Could be one of those gremlins that come free with all coaches and has moved on to something else. I would suggest you call Fleetwood Tech help and get their thoughts. Also are you a member of Discovery Owners Association?? DOAI is a Discovery owners only club. We have a great forum with many very knowledgeable Discovery owners. Worth the small membership fee.
