I purchased a 2015 Fleetwood expedition from Camper world on a consignment sale and was wondering if anyone has any experience with service contracts (warranty).  I have Camper World and whole sale warranties calling me to purchase one.  Sounds like a good idea but I would like to have some feed back or any suggestions. Thanks

I am sure you will get a lot of different opinions on the subject of third party warranties based on individual experiences.  We bought a 2007 Fleetwood Excursion from Camping World a couple of years ago and purchased a Good Sam warranty because I had no information on the maintenance history of the coach.  The warranty was expensive on the older coach but in two years, I have almost recovered the cost and I still have three years left on the contract.  The Good Sam people have been very easy to work with to process claims.  They have rules you have to follow to the letter to submit a claim, but when you do follow the rules, they will cover the repair if it is a covered part,  I have had no issues with getting a repair covered and am glad I purchased the warranty..

Thank You for the reply.  I have been getting quotes from Wholesale warranties and Interstate Star RV.  The warranties they are quoting and are quite a bit less.  They claim to cover more than the Good Sams.  I have had two small claims.  They paid one and denied the other on since it happened on a Saturday night and road side assistance helped me find someone that repaired it on Sunday afternoon.  Their offices are only open on Monday through Friday 9 to 5.  Hard to get pre authorization for that.  I think this is pretty small of them but it alerted me to they type of warranty company I was dealing with and felt I need to find something a little more workable before I run into something big.  That’s not bad odds to only cover from Monday through Friday.

We've had Good Sam coverage on our coaches. While they have been good about claims as previously mentioned, you need to be serious about keeping records on all the oil changes, and required maintenance items or you risk being denied. The only other minor aggravation we experienced is there are items like shop supplies they don't cover and my 500 deductible always ends up being several hundred more when I go to pay the bill.

I have had coverage from Wholesale Warranty on 3 different coaches over the last 10+ years.  Their prices have generally been competitive and the staff has always been helpful - in one case they gave me info on how to appeal a $7000 claim that had been denied and I was able get it approved with their help.. Sometime in the last several years Jeff, the founder sold out to a big multi-origination and last summer when I renewed it had a different "feeling", but so far so good!
