We own a 2017 Storm 36D and it has 4 - 6 volt deep cycle batteries.  Two of them are under the step and the other 2 are located in th storage compartment just aft of the entry door.   The 2 in the storage compartment are mounted end to end and very difficult to check due to space limitations.  Has anyone thought of adding a pull out battery tray for t hose 2 and if so did you build it or find one pre made?

Actually, it's not as bad as it looks. After tripping the 3 breakers (2 above the door and one above the propane tank) I unhooked the positive 3 cables on the first terminal and marked them with a blue permanent marker making sure I didn't touch them to ground while disconnecting them. The next terminal was easy. It's just a jumper connecting the negative of the first battery to the positive of the second battery. I pulled out the first battery and serviced it. I dragged the second battery closer and disconnected the 2 negative cables in the back and slid it out. My guess is those cables just go to the chassis ground. Since they are only a couple of feet from the ground it was easy to set the batteries down and service them. As far as a sliding tray the cables are so big I don't see how that would work. I have the 2017 Fleetwood Storm model 32A which I think has the same battery tray setup. I found those batteries needed maintenance. The ones under the stairs seemed in good shape. Why the difference? I think the exhaust pipe being so close to the batteries in the compartment may be to blame.  Regards, John
