2016 Fleetwood Excursion Issues

We purchased this new coach a year ago anticipating fun and adventure since we just retired but instead it has been a nightmare with the dealer and they have had it in the service department longer than we have owned it. Presently it has been nearly two months to repair a crushed pipe to the master bath toilet. It seems they repair one item and tear up two. They wait weeks for Fleetwood approval for wArranty work and then weeks for parts to come in. Our biggest concern now is our one year warranty will expire as it sits at the dealer.  Has anyone had this situation come up?  Is it possible to have the warranty extended for the time it has been in the shop?  We are very frustrated but no one at the dealership seems too concerned for us. We are pretty much told their hands are tied.  HELP!!

Bypass your "dealer" and get it to a Fleetwood Service Center. It will be worth any inconvenience of having to take the trip. Try for an appointment but go regardless and be willing to wait a few days to get in the shop so at least you can get all the issues documented by Fleetwood.  Once Fleetwood has it in their records you should be able to work out a timeline to get them fixed.

I agree with Hugh, bypass the dealer and go to a Fleetwood service center. Owners in our Discovery group go to Decatur IN. Make a list of issues before you go. Make an appointment or show up on Monday and wait in line.

    Hi

I have had the same experience. My 2015 Fleetwood Southwinds has been at the dealer (we keep a calendar) longer than I have used it. This time it went in for sidewall cracks. This was very serious to me and many phone calls to get Fleetwood to allow to be fixed at the dealer. I know you can take it to the factory but I am not retired and do not have the time to go and wait. I understand your pain and it should not be this hard for the large amount of money we spend. Think about it we use our cars every day for a cheaper cost and they are covered for 3 to 5 years. We use the RV 14 to 21 days a year with one year coverage. I think they are engineered and built to fit the one year warranty. I think most people give up on getting fixed and that is what the manufacturers counts on!

The dealer and Fleetwood should honor your problem as it was reported before your warranty expired. Keep up the fight and you will win but it will not be easy. I have a good dealer and still have issues.

We had a whole lot of problems with our 2015 Excursion 33D. However, it was not in the shop nearly as long as yours.  We had a problem with the house water pump while it was under warranty, but every time we took it in the pump would perform perfectly.  This same problem continued after the warranty ran out and it was still covered.  The repair center and I had called Fleetwood and they had notations in their records or I'd bet it would not have been covered.

Make sure the factory warranty center knows all your issues, and call before the warranty expires, and they will address the issues.  It took 3 trips to get our kitchen sink hose from kinking when the slide went out.  You would think for the money that they would build a better product.

I had issues during the warranty period.  It was taken care by the dealer in Las Vegas.  We escalated our issues to REV and they assigned a representative to us. He coordinated the repairs with the dealer and a Fleetwood Mainteance shop in California in Spring 2017.  We did not have possession of our coach for 4 months of the 7 months we had it.  So, we insisted they extended the 1 year warranty.  They agreed to extend it 4 months and put it in writing.
