Needless to say I am a newbie to motorhomes. We have an outside tv on our 2016 Expedition. There does not seem to be anything connected but the antenna. If we wanted to watch using sattelite how would this be done. I notice there is a splitter on the bedroom tv. But dont understand how it operates. Currently two HDMI on output side but nothing on imput. hooked a blur ray to it but nothing changed. Changed all imputs on tv but no signal except Antenna. What am I doing wrong??

I have a 2013 Expedition and the outside tv is connected to the bedroom tv by a hdmi splitter so that what ever is showing on the bedroom tv is also "transmitted to the outdoor tv.  The hdmi panel this is located in the bed room is for attaching any hdmi device, ie. disc played or a satellite receiver.  I didn't like the arrangement so I have installed a Dish Hopper in the front entertaintment compartment that runs the living tv and Dish Joeys for all the other tvs using the over the air coax cable to hook them up.  You can also add the  Dish OTA (over-the-air) adapter to the Hopper and hook the Jack antenna to it and get the local broadcasts which are accessed via the Hopper's on-the-screen guide...  Hope this helps...

    Bill,

If I remember correctly, your Expedition is a 38K.  On our 2015 Expedition 38K, the outside TV is connected to the bedroom satellite receiver through an HDMI splitter.  To watch satellite TV (Dish or DirecTV) on the outside TV, the bedroom satellite receiver has to be on and set to the channel you want to watch.  Our Expedition came from the factory with the satellite inputs for all of the TVs connected to HDMI 2.  Yours may be set up the same way if it came from the Decatur, Indiana factory.

You might check the HDMI splitter behind the bedroom TV to make sure the input from the satellite receiver and both outputs are connected, one to the bedroom TV and the other disappearing into a cutout in the wall on the left side of the compartment.  If those connections are okay, you can check the connections to the back of the outside TV by removing the felt covered thin plywood panel behind the kitchen sink plumbing.  It is rather difficult to remove, but it can be done.  It isn't screwed or nailed to anything.  It is held in place by its snug fit.  Working the bottom out first is probably the easiest way.  Once it is removed, or at least moved enough for you to see the back of the outside TV with a flashlight, you should see an HDMI cable connected to one of the HDMI inputs.  If that also looks good, and you still don't have a satellite signal on the outside TV, you should still be under the one-year "wall to wall" warranty.  Let an authorized dealer take care of it.

If they are within reasonable range, I recommend the Decatur, Indiana REV Recreation Group Service Center over an authorized dealer, but the wait for an appointment is apt to be long.  There is also a service center in Coburg, Oregon if that location is more convenient.  I don't have personal experience with them but they reportedly are as good as the exceellent folks in Decatur.

If you have the upgraded satellite antenna, I like the Dish Hopper solution.  Unfortunately, it isn't compatible with the Winegard Roadtrip Mission antenna that comes as standard equipment on the recent Expedition and most other Fleetwood models.

thanks Steve and Garret for the inf. It has been very helpful. I notice that the splitter you mention is powered but I only get one orange light when I hook a Blue Ray to the imput.side. the cable are marked 21 and it looks like 68? I can now get the blue ray outside but don't understand why the other light does not come on? Dealer call Monday. Again thanks all.

You have to go behind sofa and take off the panel to access the tv.

We now have put a separate satellite on our Expedition to run the Bedroom TV independently from the Living Room.  But we are trying to find out how the outside TV is connected to the bedroom TV.  There is an input on the outside TV that is "Bedroom" but it is grayed out.  How can I get the bedroom Satellite to work also on the outside TV? There is a box under the Bedroom TV int he cabinet below that has a HDMI connector and also a video connector.  Now that we are not using the internal splitter that ran to the bedroom -- how do I get the outside TV connected to the same satellite?  I assumed that whole box in that cabinet was connected somehow to the outside TV.  Help?
